Plans afoot for a pre-show live-stream Another company whose appearance at the London Show on 30th October will be impacted by the pandemic is R-Comp, with both Andrew Rawnsley and Steph in an at risk category, and therefore shielding – and of course the concern of not just picking up the virus themselves, but potentially passing it on to other show visitors. However, despite their own non-attendance in person, the company will still have a presence; a stand has been booked, and Richard Brown of Orpheus Internet (and Andrew’s co-conspirator…
In a break to the regular schedule, the January meeting of the Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club (WROCC) – which is customarily the group’s annual general meeting – will be a regular meeting, with a guest speaker, and to which you are all invited.

Six months on from the show itself… that’s almost as long as the Long Gap between the Wakefield and London shows! Ahem. The place to be for discerning RISC OS users (and retro Acorn enthusiasts) on Saturday, 27th April, was Wakefield – more specifically, the Cedar Court Hotel in Calder Grove – because that was where the annual Wakefield Acorn and RISC OS Computer Show took place.

Now available from R-Comp is the latest version of the NetFetch internet suite, which contains a bundle of software including, amongst other things, Hermes for transporting emails and a version of Messenger so you can read and write those emails. The update to version 5.50 includes two headline features – support for the very latest SSL/TLS standards, and an easy ‘quick-fetch’ function for individual mailboxes.
