DrWimpC App Builder updated

Announcement from Peter Miller, 25th February, 2014 A new version of DrWimpC App Builder (1.21) is available containing the following changes: Added a menu to the New App dialogue to allow selection of either the ResFind program (by the German Archimedes Group (GAG)) or the new ResFinder program (by Rick Murray) to set the application language dependent resources path.

Cat, Countdown, SignalBox and Sudotutor releases

A selection of announcements from Chris Hall during 2013 Cat version 0.18, announced 4th July, 2013 A disc cataloguing utility, Cat version 0.18, is now available from !Store and via PackMan. This presents a disc catalogue in a window, showing a tree structure of files and directories. The contents can be saved in several forms and the graphical layout can be adjusted to suit. Disc contents can be compared and changed files (by datestamp and/or CRC) identified.

RISC OS 5.20 officially available

 A chip off for the old block RiscPC. Shortly after unveiling it at the Midlands Show on July 13th, RISC OS Open Ltd announced the official release of RISC OS 5.20 – the latest ‘stable’ version* – towards the end of the month. This version incorporates a massive 625 changes for the IYONIX pc, and 654 changes for the OMAP3 platform, as used on the BeagleBoard. Disc duplicating software CloneDisc 1.01 now available

Dolly useful tool! Ben Avison of Piccolo Systems (and RISC OS Open Ltd) has released version 1.01 of CloneDisc, which he describes as “a general purpose tool for copying the entire contents of a disc,” and which “features full support for disc image files.” The software’s capabilities, explains Ben in his announcement at the beginning of August, fall into four major areas:

NetSurf gains experimental Javascript support

 I blinked and I missed it. Isn’t it just typical that something particularly notable would happen during the period in which I was less able to devote any time to RISCOSitory? Pic_Index 1.24c fixes bug

RISC OS 4 and 6 users can once again show the world their holiday snaps. Pic_Index is an application developed by John Williams to generate a thumbnail index for a set of JPEG files, in HTML format – ideal for use as gallery pages on websites, CD ROMs, or anywhere else the user might wish to store the images and resulting HTML.
