In my preview of the Wakefield Show, which is looming ever closer as I type this, I mentioned that Sine Nomine will have a new version of puzzle game Wrangler available, and were expecting to have new versions of RiscOSM and, possibly, other products from their range. Sine Nomine’s Matthew Phillips has now been in touch to confirm exactly what they will have – rather than just expect to have. In short, the Durham Duo will be releasing several updates to their range at the event, so here’s the low-down on those updates:
Visitors to Saturday’s London Show will be able to see (and buy or upgrade to) a new version of RiscOSM, the map viewing software from Sine Nomine. The headline feature of the new version is the ability to trace out routes on the map – the software can now follow map features when doing so, making it easy to plan an accurate route. See it in action on Sine Nomine’s stand, or in the show theatre during Matthew Phillips’ presentation. Also check out Chris Hall’s GPS software, relaying location data to RiscOSM, which will be on display on the Soft Rock Software stand.
The latest map data will also be available to purchase, on both USB sticks and SD cards – and anyone bringing back an SD card (including the SD adapter for micro-SD cards) previously purchased from Sine Nomine will be entitled to a discount.
Out of the chaos comes… another round up of (mostly late) news!
With yet another protracted busy period here in the RISCOSitory/Soft Rock Software bunker, it’s time to round up some news that has either been previously missed, or held back until more time was available.
It’s catch-up time again after another busy period here at the RISCOSitory bunker, folks – so here’s another batch of news nuggets that have been waiting in the wings:
Announcement from Matthew Phillips, 23rd October, 2015.
News nuggets for you to chew on.
The last few months have been very busy with stuff unrelated to RISC OS, so unposted news – particularly smaller items – has built up again. It’s time, therefore, for a snippets post to round up these smaller items.
Map app gap snap!
Finding the Webbington Hotel – a true test of Sine Nomine’s RiscOSM!
This year’s Southwest Show, which takes place on Saturday, 21st February, will see Sine Nomine Software making their debut appearance at this event – regular exhibitors at other shows, Durham-based couple Matthew and Hilary Phillips have never before attended this one.
Previously only provisional, presence now, er, confirmed.
With the Southwest Show fast approaching – it’s set to take place on the 21st February, just two weeks from today – organisers R-Comp Interactive and Orpheus Internet have been able to confirm the attendance of three more exhibitors:
