With a growing catalogue available from AMCOG Games, it should come as no surprise to anyone that there would eventually be some kind of compilation available – and that has been the case since this year’s Southwest Show, when the company began selling a CD featuring their first five games.

The individual games continue to be available via !Store, but if you wanted to buy them as a compilation, on CD, the main way to do so has been to pop along to a RISC OS show and hand over the necessary amount of money to AMCOG’s Tony Bartram. Continue reading »

Titanium motherboardThe summer holiday period is just about over, and people with kids will soon see them returning to school (here in the UK, at least). AMCOG games has released a new version of Mop Tops, the company’s most recent game, with more levels, more music tracks, new sound effects, and improved graphics.

Launched at London 2016, the game was inspired by Lemmings and involves the player placing various tools and objects on the play area for the titular Mop Tops to interact with, the aim being to guide them to the exit on each level. As such, each level is a puzzle that needs to be solved, and the player is given the building blocks to try to solve that puzzle. Continue reading »

Well, okay, !Store, not ‘the shop’ as such!

Anthony Bartram of AMCOG Games has officially released his latest game, the Lemmings-inspired Mop Tops, which is a parallax scrolling puzzle game featuring 22 levels (currently – more are planned, with updates being free) and four original pieces of music. The objective is to guide as many Mop Tops as you can to the exit before the time runs out, and you can place tools and objects on the screen for the Mop Tops to pick up and use, or interact with in some way, in order to help with this task – all while avoiding the plants, which are carnivorous.

The game is loosely based on the same principle as Lemmings, but with some differences – such as those carnivorous plants, for one thing! It is priced at £9.99 and available from !Store – or available to buy in person at shows, where you get to speak to the developer and have go before buying.
