Following the release of a new version of Font Directory Pro in March, having taken over development of the product from LOOKsystems, Elesar Ltd has made available a maintenance update free of charge to those people using version 3.20 of the software.

Font Directory Pro is a boon for those RISC OS users with a hefty font collection, being designed to make managing those fonts – and therefore finding the right one amongst them – much, much easier. The software is actually a suite of six applications – Fonts, Viewer, Choices, Filer, Access, and Reset – that together allow you to: Continue reading »

In January, Elesar‘s Rob Sprowson paid a visit to the RISC OS User Group of London to talk about CloudFS, and another ‘mystery’ product, later revealed to be font management system Font Directory Pro, originally from LOOKsystems. At that point, a new version of the software was ready, and the only remaining task before it could be released was converting the large user manual. The last release from LOOKsystems was all the way back in 2003, and the new version (3.20) sees the software updated to work on newer ARM processors, and modern versions of RISC OS.

Coming with a hefty 108 page manual, the new version costs £22.50 including VAT (plus p&p) to upgrade from an earlier version (proof of an existing licence will be needed), and £45.00 including VAT (plus p&p) to those buying it for the first time.

But if you want more details, pop along to the ROUGOL meeting on Monday!

As well as talking about CloudFS, the mystery product that Elesar Ltd‘s Rob Sprowson is set to reveal at the next meeting of the RISC OS User Group of London has been revealed as an updated version of Font Directory Pro, which was originally developed and sold by LOOKsystems. The software has been updated so that it can be used on the latest hardware, and on zero-page versions of RISC OS, and MW Software have provided an updated file scanner plug-in for Artworks files that contain text areas.

The only task remaining in order to be able to release the new version of Font Directory Pro is converting the large user manual, which is taking longer than expected – but in the meantime, the meeting on Monday, 16th January (full details in the previous announcement) is the place to be to see a demonstration of the software and pose any questions about it to Rob.
