This is a real shame, as Drag ‘n Drop has played an important part on the Acorn/RISC OS scene recently. Its closure will surely be felt by many, but hopefully will also mean that Paul has more time to pursue other projects!

Sounds like a cracking idea for us Beagle owners who don’t need the rest of the hardware the Armini brings. Just tell me how to pay my hundred quid and I’m in! I just hope it doesn’t go the way of other software subscriptions in the past. I’m happy, though, to put my hand in my pocket for this one. Thank you, RComp, for sharing this with the rest of us.

Unfortunately, despite being an ARMini owner, I have no idea – neither that computer nor my Iyonix is set up at the moment, and might not be for another few weeks.

And, gah! I’ve just realised that after writing this snippets post, I deleted the email Andrew sent to users with the login details for the site – looking now, it’s already expired from my junk folder. How stupid of me!

I’ll have to email Andrew, but I’ll wait until the computer is actually set up.

I’m curious about the ARMini’s OS update and “roll back” procedure. Is it a softload on top of the OS stored on the SD card?

It would really be something to have RISC OS running on a machine that can be bought for a tenner. It would make native RISC OS more attractive to those curious of our platform.

Great show report and hopefully a successful day for all concerned. I wouldn’t have been quite so pushy with the leaflets if promoting a commercial product. But I thought I could safely get away with it in this case.
