September meetings in Southampton and Bristol

Two regular user group meetings are set to take place in the next few days.

Southampton

The first meeting is the Southampton RISC OS Users Group – aka Scrooge SROUG. Taking place on Tuesday, 8th September, in the Sports Centre of Itchen College – at the College Centre, which is an open area with tables and chairs adjacent to the Sports Centre Reception Desk – the meeting runs from 7:00pm until 9:00pm, and admission is free.

The meeting is organised, as ever, by Dave Mr USB Higton, who says attendees can bring along any hardware and software they want to show off or play with, and that there will be at least one small network of RISC OS computers, with a connection to the outside world.

The venue is on Deacon Road, Southampton, with the car park entrance found opposite Whites Road.

Bristol

The second meeting takes place the following evening, on Wednesday, 9th September. Bristol RISC OS Users (BRU) meet up in the Hope and Anchor Pub, which is about half way up (or down) Jacobs Wells Road, from around 7:00 to 7:30pm (although eager members may arrive earlier) and continues until closing.

Parking is on-road, with some local roads being metered – but the area is well served by public transport; look for buses heading towards Queens Road, The Triangle and Park Street, all of which are a very short walk from the pub.

There is no set topic and, just as with the Southampton meeting, those attending can bring along any bits and pieces they want to show off or play with – and anyone is welcome.
