Transient 2.07 released

Announcement from Fred Graute, 1st February 2014

I’m pleased to announce that version 2.07 of Transient is available for download [zip].

The following changes have been made in this release:

  • Rules bug fix: When the Choices window was opened the currently selected rule wasn’t being set to -1 (none). This could cause problems when the current rule was deleted, Choices closed and then re-opened.
  • Expiry options: At user request, the date fields in the Expiry section of the Choices window have been increased to 3 digits to allow larger expiry delays. Specifically to make it possible to set the expiry delay to 1 year.
  • Toolbox changes: Running Transient early in the start-up sequence could cause it to fail as it wasn’t informed about its Toolbox objects being created. Transient now creates its Toolbox objects manually so that it always knows the IDs of its Toolbox objects.

About Transient

Transient is a utility which provides a temporary directory on your hard disc, creating a new subdirectory every day to help you organise files.

You can use it like a RAM disc – drag files to it, save files to it – but the files will remain on the hard disc until you delete them.

If so desired, the directories can be expired automatically when they’ve reached a certain age.
